  • Vocabulary: Greetings, personal pronouns, numbers, and countries.
  • Grammar: Verbs, personal pronouns, and sentence structure.
  • Activities: Listening exercises, role-playing introductions, and pronunciation practice.
Chapter 1: Gute Reise!
  • Content: Discusses preferences and dislikes about travel, understanding travel planning conversations, writing vacation stories, and interpreting announcements and blog entries.
  • Grammar Topics: Vocabulary related to travel. Pronunciation strategies.
Chapter 2: Freunde, Kollegen und ich (10 UE)
  • Topics: Hobbies, activities, and professions.
  • Vocabulary: Hobbies, activities, days of the week, and professions.
  • Grammar: Verb conjugation, definite articles, and plural forms.
  • Activities: Dialogues about hobbies, writing short descriptions, and pronunciation drills.
Chapter 2: Das ist ja praktisch!
  • Content: Covers consumer behavior, expressing consequences, making complaints, understanding new technologies, and discussing advertisements.
  • Grammar Topics: Infinitive with ‘zu.’ Subordinate clauses with ‘da/weil’ and ‘obwohl.’ Sounds: n, ng, nk.
Chapter 3: In Hamburg (10 UE)

  • Grammar: Articles, negation, and imperative forms.

  • Grammar Topics: Use of ‘lassen’ (to let). Expressing consequences: deshalb/deswegen/darum/daher, sodass/so … dass. Genitive and prepositions (wegen, trotz). Präteritum and time expressions with Dative and Genitive.

  • Topics: Food, shopping, and dining out.
  • Vocabulary: Food items, shops, and prices.
  • Grammar: Accusative case, verbs with accusative, and modal verbs.
  • Activities: Ordering food in a restaurant, role-playing grocery shopping, and writing a shopping list.
Chapter 5: Umweltfreundlich?
  • Content: Discusses environmental issues, startup ideas, and goals for sustainability.
  • Grammar Topics: Konjunktiv II for unreal conditions. Pronouns and pronominal adverbs. Comparative and superlative forms before nouns.
Chapter 6: Blick nach vorn
  • Content: Discusses future plans and expectations, understanding longer texts, and expressing future projections.
  • Grammar Topics: Futur I (future tense). n-declension and relative clauses in Dative.
Chapter 7: Zwischenmenschliches
